How do I test if my mouse scroll wheel is working properly?

Open MouseWheelTest.com and position your mouse pointer inside the diagnostic box. Start the 30-Second Diagnostic to test scrolling down, scrolling up, and consistency. The tool tracks every wheel event, detects erratic reverse-scroll ticks, and provides a comprehensive diagnostic breakdown.

Why does my mouse scroll wheel jump up and down or bounce back?

A scroll wheel jumping up and down is commonly caused by dust or hair inside the mechanical rotary encoder, worn contact pins, or browser smooth scrolling conflicts. Testing with our diagnostic tool reveals if inverted delta events are being sent from the hardware to the browser.

Why is my mouse scrolling in the opposite or wrong direction?

Opposite scrolling is often caused by the OS Natural Scrolling setting in macOS or Windows touchpad settings, mouse manufacturer companion software profiles (Logitech G HUB, Razer Synapse), or a faulty rotary encoder generating inverted signals.

Is my test data uploaded or recorded?

No. All scroll event processing and report generation happen 100% locally in your web browser. No telemetry or scroll event data is ever sent to any remote server.
